Slinger Police Department
WARNING LOCAL PHONE SCAM IDENTIFIED The Slinger Police Department investigated a complaint reported by the Slinger High School. Unknown subject has made calls identifying himself as being affiliated with the school. This subject states that your child has signed up to purchase software to help them achieve higher SAT scores. The subject advises that it is time to pay and requests a credit card number. School officials have advised that they do not sell or provide software to assist with the SAT testing. Do not give your credit card information or personal information to anyone that you do not know or have not done business with.
THE SLINGER POLICE DEPARTMENT IS JOINING THE "CLICK IT OR TICKET" MOBILIZATION SPONSORED BY THE WISCONSIN BUREAU OF TRANSPORTATION SAFETY. The program is part of an effort to increase safety belt use by "high visibility enforcement". Statistics indicate that nearly one-fifth of all motor vehicle occupants still do not buckle up. Yet more than half (55%) of vehicle occupants killed during the day were unrestrained by safety belts and almost two-thirds (64%) of vehicle occupants killed at night were unrestrained by safety belts. The Slinger Police Department is joining thousands of officers across the country enforcing belt laws during the annual "Click It or Ticket" national mobilization. This year’s two-week enforcement wave runs from May 21st to June 3rd. During this mobilization officers will focus on the enforcement of safety belt and child safety seat use. "Those who are not complying with the laws will be ticketed". The Slinger Police Department is participating in this program because of the importance of wearing safety belts and how the use of safety belts can help save lives and prevent serious injury.
